Academic Guidelines
At Kalaivanar N.S.K. Polytechnic College (KNSKPT), academic
excellence goes hand-in-hand with discipline,
responsibility, and commitment. The following guidelines are
established to ensure smooth functioning of academic
activities and to maintain a professional, student-friendly
environment.
🎓 Grading System
KNSKPT adopts the Relative Grading System to evaluate
student performance. Each subject is assessed through a
combination of theory, practicals, internal assessments, and
external exams. The final performance is reflected in the
form of letter grades and corresponding grade points.
👔 Uniform Policy
To instill a sense of identity, discipline, and
equality, every student is required to strictly
follow the college dress code.
-
Students must wear the
college-prescribed uniform at all times during
working hours.
-
A minimum of two sets
of uniform are to be maintained by each student.
-
Wearing the college
Identity Card is mandatory inside the campus.
-
Students should
present themselves in neat and tidy attire,
representing the dignity of the institution.
📏 Discipline Code
Discipline is the backbone of technical education at
KNSKPT. Students are expected to abide by the rules
and regulations both on and off campus.
-
Punctuality: Students
must be punctual for lectures, lab sessions, and
college events.
-
Attendance: Minimum of
80% attendance is mandatory to appear for semester
examinations.
-
Conduct: Any form of
misconduct, including misbehavior, use of mobile
phones in classrooms, and disrespect to faculty or
staff, will lead to disciplinary action.
-
Property: Students must
respect and preserve college property. Damages
will be charged.
-
Digital Etiquette: Use
of internet, lab systems, and digital devices must
align with ethical and academic purposes.
💰 Fees & Payment Guidelines
Timely payment of tuition and other fees is crucial
for maintaining enrollment and access to college
facilities.
-
At the time of
admission, all prescribed fees must be paid as per
the fee structure.
-
Annual tuition fees and
other charges must be cleared at the beginning of
each academic year.
-
Students failing to
pay fees on time will not be allowed to:
- Attend classes or practical sessions
- Appear for internal or external exams
-
Access library, hostel, or other facilities
-
Receipts should be
preserved as proof of payment for future
reference.
🧭 General Conduct
-
Students are expected
to respect faculty, staff, and peers, and uphold
the values of teamwork and cooperation.
-
Ragging,
discrimination, or harassment of any kind is
strictly prohibited (see Anti-Ragging Policy).
-
Active participation
in college events, seminars, and workshops is
encouraged to build confidence and skills.
At KNSKPT, we believe that academic success is the result of
consistent effort, disciplined behavior, and mutual respect.
These guidelines are in place to help every student reach
their full potential in a structured and supportive
environment.
